Sweet home, Minnesota

I've been away forever. I wish I had the energy to explain all the reasons why I have been missing, but I find it easier to just bullet point some highlights and move on so I can come back as a regular poster without the daunting "update post" hanging over my head.
  • The big one first: Mom was in a car accident. I got the call on a
Monday morning, hit the road for the Hoosier state, and found
my way back to Minneapolis a full four-weeks later.
  • In that time, I moved Mom to North Carolina. Long story - for another day.
  • My cousin graduated from high school...and even before that my sister graduated from college. I don't think it was mentioned on here, but is incredibly noteworthy.
  • I am in the running for a "good job." Still, the better the job, the longer the hiring process is. Yuck.
  • I have been trying to get up to speed with people here. A lot
happened in that month that I needed to catch up to. I am just
about there now that I am in the middle of my second weekend back.

Enough of that. Now back to the, "here and now." I made a fresh pesto today with the basil from my "garden." By "garden" I mean the large flower pot filled with herbs on my balcony. It smells like Heaven and I am really excited to mix it with some pasta for dinner this evening. Take a look, and try not to drool.

I also have to brag about the garlic-chili roast turkey breast that I made earlier this week. It was so delicious that I haven't minded eating the leftovers basically by myself (which are still moist and perfect).

That's it for now. It is about time for dinner, and my mouth is watering!
